UF Scientific Diver Development Program
Divemaster, AAUS Scientific Diver, Teaching Assistant





 

As a NAUI Divemaster, the first level of professional diving, I:

- Assists with the weekly instruction of UF's NAUI Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Advanced Rescue, and Master Diver SCUBA courses.
- Collaborates with dive professionals to plan and lead students in open water dives- including deep, low visibility, night, drift, shore, wreck, and boat dives.
- Observes students in water, monitors safety, teaches essential safety and dive skills, and evaluates students.
- Independently teaches "Refresher Scuba," "Try Scuba," and "Skin Diver" classes for new students.
- Fills scuba tanks, operates air compressor, repairs and maintains equipment, and checks out gear to students.
